2024 Republican Presidential Primaries And Caucuses

2024 Republican Presidential Primaries and Caucuses

Overview

The 2024 Republican presidential primary season officially began in mid-January and will last through June. To secure the nomination, candidates will need to win a majority of delegates at the Republican National Convention, which is scheduled to be held in July.

The Republican Party is the second-oldest extant political party in the world after its rival, the Democratic Party. Both parties trace their origins to the first American party system that developed in the 1790s. It is one of the two major contemporary political parties in the United States, along with the Democratic Party.

The primary season will be closely watched by political observers, as it will provide an early indication of the strength of the Republican Party's candidates and the issues that are important to Republican voters.
