Chery Omoda 5 Facelift Revealed With New Bumper And Grille To Be Renamed Omoda C5 In Malaysia

Chery Omoda 5 facelift revealed with new bumper and grille – to be renamed Omoda C5 in Malaysia?

Chery has revealed the facelifted version of its Omoda 5 crossover, which is expected to be renamed the Omoda C5 when it arrives in Malaysia.

The Omoda 5, which was first launched in China last year, is a compact crossover that slots in between the Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 7 Pro in Chery’s SUV lineup. The facelifted model features a number of cosmetic updates, including a new front bumper with a larger grille and revised headlights. The rear bumper has also been redesigned, and the taillights have been given a new shape. Inside, the Omoda 5 facelift gets a new infotainment system with a larger touchscreen and a revised instrument panel. The center console has also been redesigned, and the gear selector has been replaced with a new electronic shift lever.

Powertrain details for the facelifted Omoda 5 have not yet been announced, but it is expected to continue to be offered with a choice of 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol and 1.6-liter turbocharged petrol engines.

The Omoda 5 facelift is expected to be launched in Malaysia in the second half of 2023. When it arrives, it will likely be renamed the Omoda C5 to avoid confusion with the Proton X50, which is also known as the Geely Binyue in China.

The facelifted Chery Omoda 5 is a significant update over the current model, and it is expected to be a strong competitor in the compact crossover segment when it arrives in Malaysia.
