Parker Says Next Record Won't Take as Long to Make

Tame Impala frontman Kevin Parker has revealed that he thinks his next record won't be preceded by the half-decade gap that existed between last. The Slow Rush, Tame Impala's fourth studio album, was released in February 2020, five years after its predecessor, Currents. But in a new interview, Parker said that he doesn't think the next Tame Impala album will take as long to make.
"I think the next record will come a lot quicker than the last one," Parker said. "I've got a lot of ideas and I'm excited to start working on it." Parker didn't give a specific timeline for the next Tame Impala album, but his comments suggest that it could arrive sooner than fans might expect.
In the meantime, fans can listen to The Slow Rush, which was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. The album has been praised for its lush production and Parker's songwriting skills. Tame Impala is also set to embark on a tour in support of The Slow Rush in 2023.
